More and greener district heating by 2045.

In December, the Federal Ministry of Economics published a study on long-term energy supply scenarios. The good news: district heating is to be massively expanded – by around 60% by 2045 in the building sector alone. At the same time, new and old heating networks are to be completely phased out of gas and coal and replaced by renewable energy sources and waste heat. The study was carried out by the Fraunhofer ISI and the IFEU Institute, among others. You can find more information at www.langfristszenarien.de.
